Hi All, I'm Phil

I have been a sports photographer specialising in drag racing photography since I shot my first race meeting in Townsville QLD in 1985.

From there I was asked to be the official photographer at Townsville Dragway, a position I held for 14 years. In 1986 I was invited to be the correspondent photographer and writer for Dragster Australia magazine, a position I proudly held for over 25 years. During this time I also shot special features for various other publications and newspapers.

I also travelled to all other QLD regional racetracks to cover events, and between 2014 to 2018 I was the major contributor of photos for Graeme Cowin’s Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars series.

I have had the pleasure and privilege of being an accredited ANDRA and Perth Motorplex photographer since relocating to my home town of Perth WA in 2020. I have taken advantage of the many other motorsport opportunities available in WA. and now cover jet sprint boat racing, tractor pulls and mower racing.

I have also been the official Club Photographer for the Alkimos Titans Baseball Club since 2020 and enjoy capturing the action during the games, and the social side of the Club as well, reliving old memories of a game I played and loved in my earlier years.

During the motor racing off seasons I am shooting as an accredited photographer with the WAFL, and WAFL Women’s Aussie rules football clubs.

I have always used Canon bodies and Canon or Tamron lenses and flashes which have never failed to give me the professional photographic results needed for publication in all media.

Most importantly I always have, and still do, appreciate, and enjoy the privileged access I have at any sporting event I am there to capture.
